Blink-free in 3-2-1

Our readers are the best thing about Photojojo. In a recent newsletter, we showed you how to guarantee blink-free group photos. But readers Kristina, Mike and Colin pointed out the larger the group the more frames you would need to burn and even then you couldn’t guarantee everyone would be looking at the camera (another group photo nemesis).

Kristina: Have your subjects close their eyes while you are focusing. Tell them to open their eyes on the count of 3 and all their eyes will be open!

Mike: Have everyone close their eyes, telling them to open their eyes on the count of three. Count aloud, one, two, three. Shoot your photos on three. Two photos is all it’s ever needed

Colin pointed us to Scott Kelby’s tip on blinking (from The Digital Photography Book).

Count down, count up, either way counting to three is another way to make sure everyone has their eyes open in your group pictures.
